RFI has learned, by means of a press release, of the “

 immediate and until further notice

” suspension of the broadcasting of its programs in Burkina Faso.

The management of RFI strongly deplores this decision and protests against the totally unfounded accusations calling into question the professionalism of its antennas.

This cut occurred without notice and without the implementation of the procedures provided for in the RFI broadcasting agreement drawn up by the Superior Council of Communication of Burkina Faso.

The France Médias Monde group will explore all avenues to achieve the restoration of RFI's broadcasting, and recalls its unfailing attachment to freedom of information and to the professional work of its journalists.

In Burkina Faso, RFI is broadcast on FM (5 relays), shortwave, unscrambled on several satellites and via some fifty partner radio stations.

It is followed each week by more than 40% of the population and more than 70% of opinion leaders.
