On November 26, US authorities gave Chevron permission to extract oil and produce petroleum products in Venezuela, as well as supply them to the United States.

It was also reported that the US authorities are ready to ease sanctions against Venezuela, seeking to hold elections in the country.

Prior to this, Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro said he was ready to resume dialogue with the opposition through the mediation of Norway and Mexico.
