The plans for the outdoor swimming pool in Riddarfjärden were presented two and a half years ago by the then green-blue majority in Stockholm City Hall.

The idea was a bathhouse with both cold and hot water pools that would be open all year round.

The plan was also that the bath would be moved to Stora Essingen after ten years.

But the bath was appealed by, among others, the Swedish Property Agency and the Swedish Transport Administration, and the Land and Environmental Court stopped the plans for the bathhouse with the argument that it is not possible to ensure that the site would be able to be restored after a ten-year period.

The city appealed the decision to the Land and Environmental Court of Appeal, which has now decided not to grant leave to appeal, and thus the decision to stop the bath stands.
