During the event, he addressed a former Somali battalion fighter who received a disability due to a mine fragmentation wound in the DPR in 2015.

“First of all, I want to express my admiration for people like you, strong people who were not afraid to fight for themselves, for other people, risking their lives and their health,” TASS quoted him as saying.  

Putin also said that the Russian military who suffered during the special operation in Ukraine had fulfilled their duty, the task of the authorities is to provide them with comprehensive medical and social assistance.

In addition, Putin supported the idea of ​​creating rehabilitation centers for wounded soldiers in the Donbass.
