The gendarmerie and the police collaborated during a vast operation of roadside checks organized Thursday afternoon at the exit of Cavaillon (Vaucluse).

A total of 45 vehicles and nearly 70 people were checked in an hour and a half, reports

Several traffic violations were reported by the police.

The gendarmes noted in particular a lack of license but also offenses related to narcotics.

They also checked a man under an obligation to leave French territory and therefore in violation of the legislation on foreigners.

For their part, the police made a much more surprising discovery.

By controlling a biker, they discovered that he was carrying a modified grenade in his bag as well as a dagger, a truncheon and several hunting cartridges, indicates

The 45-year-old man, originally from Monteux, did not have a driving license.

He was taken into custody and will be summoned to court later.
