“As far as we understand, at the moment the registration of this lavra, which is administered by the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church, has not been canceled,” he said.

Balashov explained that on December 1, the charter of the “parallel” monastery of the schismatic OCU “Kiev-Pechersk Lavra” was registered, and on December 2, entered into the state register of Ukraine.

He also stated that the schismatics of the OCU would lay claim to one of the temples of the upper Lavra, and also ask for part of the premises for "monastic activities."

Earlier, a representative of the OCU, Yevstratiy Zorya, said that the Holy Dormition Kiev-Pechersk Lavra was re-registered to the OCU supported by the Ukrainian authorities.
