China News Service, December 2 (Xinhua) According to the US "Milwaukee Sentinel", in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, a 10-year-old boy shot and killed his mother a few days ago because she refused to buy him a virtual reality helmet. (VR headset).

Court records show the boy initially told police he got the gun from his mother's bedroom around 7 a.m. on Nov. 21 while she was doing laundry in the basement, according to reports.

The boy claimed that when he was playing with a pistol, the gun went off and hit his mother. He then told his 26-year-old sister, who immediately called 911.

But, a day later, the boy's aunt challenged his account with police.

The boy later admitted to police that he deliberately pointed the gun at his mother and shot her.

The boy's aunt and sister told police the boy never cried or showed remorse for his mother's death.

The pair also learned that the day after killing his mother, the boy logged into her Amazon account, ordered a virtual reality headset and attacked his 7-year-old cousin.

The boy has now been charged with first-degree reckless homicide and is currently being held in juvenile detention.

The newspaper did not identify the boy because of his age.

The boy reportedly had "anger issues" growing up, including pulling the puppy's tail when he was 4 years old.

Six months ago, he even ignited a balloon filled with flammable liquid, which exploded and burned furniture and carpets.

"It's definitely a family tragedy. I don't think anyone is going to deny or disagree with that," said the boy's lawyer, Angela Cunningham, who said she was still gathering information.

Wisconsin law states that children as young as 10 years old who commit serious crimes such as first-degree manslaughter, first-degree reckless homicide and attempted first-degree manslaughter will be tried as adults.
