The European Union condemned what it described as the escalation of Israeli violence in the West Bank and occupied Jerusalem, and the Palestinian presidency denounced the practices of the occupation forces after they executed the young man, Ammar Mufleh, in "cold blood" today, Friday.

The European Union said that "the killing of 10 Palestinians in 72 hours demonstrates the use of lethal force by Israeli security in violation of international law."

The union stressed that the escalation of Israeli violence in the West Bank and occupied Jerusalem "causes us to be deeply concerned."

For its part, the Palestinian Presidency said, "The execution of young Ammar Mufleh by the occupation forces in cold blood is a heinous crime within a series of crimes against our people."

She added that these crimes have become an official policy of the successive governments of the occupation that require international protection for the Palestinian people.

The Palestinian News Agency (Wafa) reported that an Israeli soldier "executed a Palestinian youth with live bullets from zero distance" this afternoon, Friday, in the town of Hawara, south of Nablus, in the occupied West Bank.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health said that the General Authority for Civil Affairs informed it of the death of a citizen after the occupation forces shot him in Hawara.

A video clip of the incident circulated by Palestinian pages on social networks showed that an Israeli soldier jostled with a Palestinian, before the soldier fired from zero distance at the Palestinian.

Wafa reported that the Israeli occupation soldiers prevented citizens and ambulances from approaching the young man while he was lying on the ground.

Before Mufleh's death, the Israeli army killed 9 Palestinians during the past few days in Ramallah, Jenin and Hebron in the occupied West Bank.
