The mystery of sheep revolving around itself returned after a video filmed by a Jordanian citizen showed a flock of sheep making the same movement in Karak Governorate, southern Jordan.
This strange phenomenon came two weeks after watching the same thing in China.
The Jordanian Ministry of Agriculture interpreted the phenomenon, which Jordan is witnessing for the first time, as a natural "maternity behaviour", according to a ministry statement.
The ministry said in its statement that it “followed a video of sheep spinning around itself that was published on social media, and accordingly the site was determined by the cadres of the Karak Agriculture Directorate, where it followed up the case and took the necessary measures through a specialized technical team of veterinary cadres in Karak and Wealth Management.” animal.”
She added, "After sensory detection of the reality of the situation, the technical opinion came that the mother sheep were looking for their newborns in the barn, which is divided into several internal pens after returning from the pasture, and this movement is just the behavior of motherhood, and the behavior faded immediately after the mothers communicated with the newborns." Pointing out that "the technical team did not detect any symptoms of illness on the herd."
Meanwhile, the Grand Mufti of Jordan, Abd al-Karim al-Khasawneh, responded to citizens' comments on the issue of sheep turning around in Karak, who said that the phenomenon may be a sign of the approaching Day of Resurrection.
Al-Khasawneh confirmed, in a press statement to local media, that "the Fatwa Department will meet to study the phenomenon, and search for all the prophetic hadiths that indicate the signs of the Hour and its approach."
And Jordanian media had quoted Engineer Majdi Al-Amr, Assistant Secretary-General for Livestock at the Ministry of Agriculture, as saying that the government had sent a veterinary team to Al-Karak to verify the circulating video clip, and it is likely that the sheep are walking behind the sheep (leader of the herd of sheep) mostly.
