This was announced by the speaker of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin.

“Next week we plan to consider the issue of banning foreigners from using the services of surrogate mothers,” he wrote on Telegram.

According to Volodin, this decision will prevent the sale of children abroad.

Earlier, Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Family, Women and Children, Elena Vtorygina, in an interview with RT, commented on the statement that a decision to ban foreigners from using surrogacy in Russia would be made in December.

In May, the State Duma Committee on Security and Anti-Corruption recommended that deputies adopt in the first reading a bill prohibiting the provision of surrogacy services to foreign citizens and stateless persons.
