China News Agency, Sao Paulo, November 30th (Reporter Mo Chengxiong) The fire department of Paraná State in southern Brazil reported on November 30th local time that as of 17:00 that day, the state’s Guaratuba City (Guaratuba) on the evening of the 28th. Two people were killed in the landslide and at least 30 are estimated to be missing.

  The Paraná State Fire Department stated that at around 7:00 pm on November 28, a serious landslide occurred on the National Highway 376 in the city of Guaratuba, and at least 16 vehicles were buried by mudslides.

On the 29th, rescuers found two victims at the scene, including a 60-year-old truck driver.

  On November 30, 56 local firefighters participated in the rescue operation. They used sniffer dogs, infrared cameras, drones and other high-tech equipment to search, but no survivors or other victims were found.

  The Paraná state fire department said it was unclear how many passengers were in the buried vehicle.

However, according to estimates ranging from 1 to 5 people per vehicle, the number of missing persons may reach 30 to 50.

  The highway, which connects the Brazilian states of Paraná and Santa Catarina, is currently closed to traffic.
