When negotiations began, Linden wanted to raise rents by 5.3 percent.

In the end, the parties agreed on a lower increase.

Starting January 1, 2023, rents will increase by 3.85 percent for the majority of Linden's 1,700 apartments.

For the newly produced apartments, an increase of 1.5 percent applies instead.

- The dialogue between us and the company has been good.

We and Linden agreed that it is important to have an even and predictable rent development that is stable over time, writes Odisho Anwya, negotiator at the Southeast Region Tenants' Association, in a press release.

Satisfied with the negotiation

The real estate company's CEO Tomas Sandstedt states that they are satisfied with the lease negotiation and that it was conducted in a good tone.

Despite this, they had wanted a higher increase due to the economic situation.

- We would have needed 6.2 percent to keep pace with the increases.

Since it did not happen, it is clear that there will be less maintenance in general of our properties, says Tomas Sandstedt, CEO at Linden, to SVT Nyheter.
