SVT Nyheter Örebro has found several flaws when we reviewed Örebro municipality's financial control of the invoices from Brightn AB, the company behind the digital meeting place Trainstation in Vivalla.

In connection with the review, SVT learned that the finance department at Örebro Municipality had started an investigation following internal alarms.

But at the same time, municipal director Peter Larsson had ordered his own external investigation, which he kept secret - until now.

"Comprehensive work"

According to him, he received signals from the Örebro municipality's project office late last spring that there were deficiencies in the documents for the Brightn invoices.

They therefore questioned whether the invoices had been approved for payment.

- I judged that I needed to do an external investigation on this.

On the one hand, it is quite extensive work, and on the other hand I wanted the conclusion to be indisputable, says Peter Larsson.

Received a written warning

The investigation comes to the same shortcomings as SVT.

Among other things, the responsible operations manager Thomas Gustafsson has failed to control Brightn's purchases, and has also not complied with the agreement that the municipality signed with the company.

Thomas Gustafsson is now suspended from his job for a month, and has also received a written warning.

- I am the one who decided on that measure.

It is a way for the employer to show that we take this very seriously, says Peter Larsson.
