China News Agency, Moscow, December 1 (Reporter Tian Bing) Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov said at a press conference on European security issues on December 1 that the relationship between Russia and the West in the field of European security will not return to the past. However, the Russian side is open to relevant suggestions from the West.

The cooperation between Russia and the West in the field of security is only based on a "fresh start".

Lavrov said that European politicians tried to build a European security system without Russia and Belarus, but all security in Europe has been reduced to completely obeying the orders of the United States.

What is happening is that NATO is returning to Cold War mode on European policy, trying to keep Russia out of Europe.

The United States has tamed the whole of Europe, and hegemonism and unilateralism have not disappeared after the end of the Cold War.

Lavrov said that in view of the current actions taken by the United States, the West and the OSCE against Russia, the relationship between Russia and the West in the field of European security will not return to the previous state, but Russia is open to relevant Western suggestions.

He pointed out that cooperation between Russia and the West in the field of security should be based on a new beginning.

“Only when the West realizes that it is better to co-exist with each other on some consensus basis, we will listen to the advice of the West. Clearly, this should be a fresh start in mutual relations.”

In response to the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, Lavrov said that the so-called Russian request for negotiations is nonsense for the purpose of gaining time for gathering more troops to invest in special military operations against Ukraine.

The Russian side has never actively requested any negotiations with the Ukrainian side, but if anyone is interested in a negotiated solution, the Russian side is open to listening to relevant suggestions.

Lavrov said that on the Ukraine issue, the purpose of Western countries is not limited to defeating Russia on the battlefield, but trying to destroy Russia as a participant in international relations.

He pointed out that the United States and NATO were directly involved in the Ukrainian conflict. They provided the Ukrainian side with weapons and equipment and most of the target intelligence, and trained military personnel for the Ukrainian side. At the same time, a large number of mercenaries from Western countries participated in the conflict.

The direct intervention of the United States and the West has put the nuclear powers on the brink of conflict. "If someone tries to use traditional means in a conflict, the risk of it turning into a nuclear war will be huge."

He also said that the Russian army is currently attacking the energy infrastructure that provides military support to the Ukrainian army and transports Western weapons.
