In just one year, a lot has changed at SVT Sápmi.

Just over a year ago, the editors did not have their own platform for their news.

The online news texts were published on SR Sameradion's website - and the TV features were published as usual in the co-Nordic broadcast Ođđasat.

Bigger audience than ever

But a lot changed on December 1, 2021 when the new site was launched.

The editors continue to produce for Ođđasat and the weekly program 15 minutes from Sápmi.

But the biggest news platform is now the news site - which today reaches more than 100,000 readers per week.

At most, SVT Sápmi reached more than 300,000 readers during a single week during the year.

- We have really made an effort and worked on this.

Now the page has existed for a year and I hope we have made a name for ourselves, says Marja Påve, editor-in-chief.

Sami and indigenous perspective

Thanks to the news site, the editorial team now also produces significantly more news than ever before - in both Sami and Swedish.

How will you work in the future?

- We change our working methods gradually and we will also in the future set new goals for the site so we know how to work.

But we will continue to offer content with a Sami and indigenous perspective and news all over Sápmi, says Marja Påve.
