US President Joe Biden, today, Thursday, praised the values ​​of "freedom, equality and fraternity" as he received his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron, who is on a state visit, at the White House.

"The United States cannot ask for a better partner than France to work with," Biden said in a brief speech, alongside Macron, stressing that the alliance with it remains "essential" to stability in the world.

"The United States and France continue to confront Russia's brutal war against Ukraine," the host president added.

For his part, Macron considered that the two countries should "become again brothers in arms" in the face of the war in Ukraine and the "multiple crises".

Macron, who is on a state visit to Washington, stressed that the "alliance" between the two countries is "the most solid because this friendship is rooted through the centuries."

The French President said, "The war is returning to European lands because of the Russian aggression against Ukraine," adding, "Paris and Washington must be partners in arms, and we must achieve a new global balance."

Macron will conclude his visit to the United States tomorrow in Louisiana, specifically its most famous city, New Orleans.

It will be the first visit by a French president to the city in more than 45 years, and the third ever since France sold Louisiana (its former colony) to the fledgling American state in 1803.
