The Tunisian national team achieved a historic victory over its French counterpart, 1-0, but it was not enough to qualify for the final price round of the 2022 World Cup in the State of Qatar, as France and Australia advanced from Group D.

At the Education City Stadium, the Tunisian national team shocked the world champions, and outperformed them with a goal without a response, for the third and final round of the first round of Group Four.

The "Carthage Eagles" entered the match against the "Roosters" and they desperately need to win, as it is the only way to pass the group stage, while waiting for the outcome of the second match.

The Tunisian national team reached its goal early, when Wahbi Khazri sent a ball into the penalty area, and Nader Al-Ghandari turned it with a touch of his foot into the net, after eight minutes, but the flag bearer canceled the goal for offside, a decision that was confirmed by the video referee (VAR) technique.

France's second goalkeeper, Steve Mandanda, had no difficulty preventing Anis Ben Slimane's header from entering his own goal.

The world champions had only one chance, but it was dangerous, when the ball reached Kingsley Coman inside the box, but he missed the goal, so the first half ended in a goalless draw.

In the second half, Elias Al-Sakhiri killed the ball in the middle of the field, to reach Hamza Al-Aidouni, who passed it to Al-Khazri, who set off towards the French goal and got rid of defender Raphael Varane, before he deposited the net to the left of Mandanda, scoring the first goal for Tunisia in the fifty-ninth minute.

Wahbi Al-Khazari achieved the goal with a wonderful individual effort and signed the first goal, penetrating the French defenses successfully, after Ali Bin Ramadan cut him the ball in front of Fofana.

This goal is Khazri's third in the history of his participation in the World Cup, to equal with Saudi Sami Al-Jaber, at the top of the list of Arab players in the World Cup.

The "Carthage Eagles" held out for the remainder of the match, despite French coach Didier Deschamps paying all his stars, Kylian Mbappe, Antoine Griezmann and Osman Dembele.

The New Zealand referee canceled a goal scored by Griezmann in the 90 + 9 minute, due to offside, after returning to the video referee (VAR) technique.

Australia beat Denmark

In the second match, which was held at the same time at Al Janoub Stadium, the Australian national team managed to beat its Danish counterpart with the same result.

The Danish Mathias Jensen found himself in a suitable place to shoot, so he shot a powerful ball that Australian goalkeeper Matthew Ryan sent to a corner, which was the highlight of the first half.

The Australian "kangaroo" reached the Danish net, after a pass from Riley McGarry in the back of the defense, to his compatriot Matthew Alan Leakey, who manipulated two players, before hitting the ground to the left of goalkeeper Casper Schmeichel, to settle into the net at the 60th minute.

Thanks to this victory, the Australian national team snatched the second card from Group D by reaching the sixth point, with only a goal difference from the leaders France.

And the Tunisian national team raised its score to 4 points, with which it finished its sixth participation in the World Cup in third place, so that the “Carthage Eagles” again failed to pass the group stage.

In the confrontations of the final price round, France is waiting for the second-placed team in Group C, provided that the Australian national team meets the leaders of the same group, and the competitors will be determined after the end of tonight’s matches and bring together Poland, Argentina, Saudi Arabia and Mexico.
