Clashes erupted today, Wednesday, between Sudanese security forces and demonstrators who gathered in the vicinity of the parliament in Omdurman as part of what they called the "November 30 Million" to demand the restoration of civilian rule and accountability for the killers of the demonstrators.

Thousands of demonstrators tried to reach the parliament, but the security forces confronted them with stun grenades and tear gas, while the protesters responded by throwing stones at them.

Witnesses reported violent confrontations and hit-and-run between security forces and demonstrators in the main streets of Omdurman (west of Khartoum).

Witnesses said that the Sudanese security forces closed the Mak Nimr and White Nile bridges linking Khartoum and Bahri (north) and Omdurman (west) to avoid the movement of demonstrators between the three cities.

The protesters chanted slogans against military rule and demanded the return of democratic civil rule, and held banners reading "No to military rule", "A full civil state", "The people are stronger and apostasy is impossible", and "Yes to democratic civil rule".

On social media, the "Sudanese Resistance Committees" and activists published pictures and video clips of the demonstrations and confrontations that took place in the vicinity of the parliament in Omdurman.

And renewed demonstrations in Sudan, while army leaders and a number of parties say that talks are underway to reach a new political settlement, and to end the stalemate that has prevailed in the country since the overthrow of civil rule a year ago from now.

Since October 25, 2021, Sudan has witnessed protests calling for full civilian rule and the removal of the military component from the transitional authority.
