Today, Wednesday, a Palestinian was killed by Israeli army bullets in Jenin, in the northern West Bank, bringing to 6 the number of Palestinian martyrs in 24 hours, amid repeated incursions into the occupied Palestinian territories.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health said that the martyr Muhammad Tawfiq Badarneh was shot in the chest with live bullets in the town of Ya`bad in Jenin, and died of his wounds.

On the other hand, the journalist Raed Abu Bakr, who is from the town of Ya`bad, said - in a telephone conversation with Al-Jazeera Net - that Israeli special forces surrounded the home of the released prisoner Abdul-Ghani Harzallah (22 years old) in the northern region of the town with the aim of arresting him, and then stormed the house. The town is large, and armed confrontations and clashes took place between Herzallah and the occupation forces.

Break-in details

Abu Bakr added that the Israeli soldiers fired intensely and directly at Herzallah and the young men who confronted the occupation forces, and threatened to blow up the house if Herzallah continued the confrontation and did not turn himself in.

And the Palestinian journalist added that a young man was seriously injured - during these confrontations - in the chest and was transferred to the Ibn Sina Specialist Hospital in Jenin. Attempts were made to resuscitate his heart, but he died, and his imprisoned father was severely suffocated by tear gas.

He also mentioned that the occupation army withdrew after arresting the wanted young man, and only a short time had passed since his release from the occupation prisons.

For its part, the Israeli occupation army said in a statement that injuries occurred among Palestinians during its storming of the town of Ya`bad to arrest a "wanted by Hamas movement."

5 Palestinians, including the perpetrator of a run-over attack that injured an Israeli female soldier, were killed yesterday during Israeli incursions into the West Bank.

Among the five martyrs are the two brothers, Zaher and Jawad Rimawi, who were shot dead during clashes with the occupation forces in the village of Kafr Ein, north of Ramallah. Thousands of Palestinians mourned these martyrs in Ramallah and Hebron.

In response to the Israeli escalation, the Palestinian resistance factions called for confrontation, and Hamas said that the blood of the martyrs would not be wasted, and would be fuel for an uprising against the occupation.

In turn, the Palestinian Authority condemned the Israeli escalation and considered it a declaration of war against the Palestinian people.
