A Korean woman who has been identified as a suspect in the 'child body case in a bag' that took place in New Zealand has appeared in a New Zealand court.

New Zealand media reported that the woman, a suspect in the case, appeared at the Manukau District Court in southern Auckland and was questioned by a judge who asked for her identity and address with the help of an interpreter.

Media say the woman is suspected of murder as the mother of two children under the age of 10 whose bodies were found in a bag, but her identity has not been released by a court order.

The media reported that the woman stood quietly in her courtroom wearing a beige hooded jacket and black pants.

The interrogation reportedly took less than five minutes.

The woman, who was staying in Korea, was transported to New Zealand under the extradition treaty between Korea and New Zealand and imprisoned in Manukau Police Station detention center.

New Zealand police have been tracking the children's biological mother, a Korean woman, as a prime suspect when two children's bodies were found in a suitcase sold at a warehouse auction in the south of Auckland in August.

This woman, who is said to have immigrated to New Zealand and obtained citizenship, entered Korea in 2018 after the incident and continued to stay.
