Mutua Madrileña launches Voltio, its

carsharing

company with which it will provide service in Madrid

with a fleet of 500 vehicles

, in its first phase.

With this new project, Mutua takes another step in its mobility strategy, which aims to offer comprehensive services to its customers and increase the diversification of its businesses, as established in its current 2021-2023 Strategic Plan.

"Our goal is for our customers to be able to cover all their needs when it comes to getting around: from insuring their owned car

to offering services by the minute, day, week or month

. In addition, with this new project Mutua reinforces its commitment to urban mobility sustainable and non-polluting transport models", comments Víctor Zambrana, Deputy General Director of Insurance and New Businesses at Mutua Madrileña.

In the first phase, Voltio will deploy a fleet of 500 100% electric vehicles, made up of 400 Fiat 500e cars and 100 Opel Corsa-e cars.

Thanks to the electrical condition of the vehicles, the company plans to achieve emissions savings of

1,500 tons of carbon dioxide over the next three years

, which will contribute to improving air quality in the city of Madrid.

"These are comfortable, manageable vehicles,

very easy to drive and park

," says Conrado Espí, deputy general manager of Mobility at Mutua Madrileña.

"Through Voltio, Mutua will offer a quality, sustainable, flexible service, with competitive and differential prices. We want Voltio to be identified as the

carsharing

company that offers the easiest, most comfortable, efficient, secure, 100% user experience digital and fully respectful of the environment", adds Espí.

These vehicles will be able to circulate

without restrictions throughout the city of Madrid and park for free in the spaces in the SER zone (regulated parking service), as well as in the exclusive

carsharing

parking spaces

.

Unique and competitive rate

The company enters the market with a very competitive launch cost, with no registration fee and a

single rate of 30 cents per minute

and a pause rate of 15 cents per minute.

During the promotional period, from December 15 to January 31,

the rate will apply a 50% discount

, which will be 15 cents per minute.

Accessing Mutua's

carsharing

vehicles is quick and easy.

To do this, all you have to do is register in the Voltio app, which is free to download, and follow the instructions to select a vehicle.

It is a 100% digital service and does not require the use of a key, since the opening and closing of the vehicle will be done through the mobile phone.

Mutua has designed the technology and the Voltio app in collaboration with Chipi, a

start-up owned

by the insurer for the development of digital mobility services.

The service, which will be operational in mid-December,

expects to create 300 jobs between direct and indirect positions

.

Why volt?

Both the intrinsic meaning of the word volt and its complementary meanings have played an important role in the name of the company.

The "volt" is the international system unit for measuring electrical potential, automotive force, and electrical voltage difference.

In turn, it is complemented with the meaning "to take a volt", to leave somewhere to take a walk.

"For Mutua, Voltio combines two fundamental aspects that show the company's commitment: electrification or sustainable mobility and the increasing need of citizens to move over small distances

in a simple and agile way

", explains Conrado Espí.

mobility strategy

The launch of Voltio is part of Mutua's diversification strategy in the field of urban mobility, in which the company has been working for years and which seeks to

cover all the needs of its customers

so that they can achieve the greatest satisfaction and the best user experience.

The investments of Centauro (rental vehicles), Chipi (digital mobility comparator), Cabify (transport vehicle with driver), El Parking and Imbric (urban mobility platforms) and NIW (digital vehicle purchase platform) are in this line of growth in new businesses related to mobility.

"The presence of Mutua Madrileña in all these companies that operate in different fields configures a collaborative and comprehensive mobility ecosystem," explains Zambrana.

Mutua demonstrates with its new

carsharing

project that it is open to carrying out operations that generate growth opportunities, alongside insurance, and that guarantee the

stable and sustained development of the company.

"Customers today are multimodal and require simplified access and have different mobility solutions within reach. At Mutua we are expanding our portfolio of services in this area precisely with the aim of being able to cover all their needs. The future inevitably points to coexistence of various models and customer profiles with different mobility needs and

our commitment is to offer them personalized solutions

", says Víctor Zambrana.
