• The Lambán Panel resists despite the 'sorpasso' of the PP and due to the incompatibility of Vox with all its partners

Javier Lambán, president of Aragon and general secretary of the Aragonese socialists, pointed out this Wednesday that the former president of Asturias,

Javier Fernández

, "must have been the general secretary of the PSOE when

Alfredo Pérez Rubalcaba

left office ."

It was not like that and that led Pedro Sánchez to the leadership of the Socialists, something that Lambán regrets since he defends that "with Javier Fernández at the helm, this country and my party would have done better."

He said it during the closing ceremony this Wednesday of the

Aragon and Territorial Spain

conference , organized by the

Aragonese Cortes

.

The socialist baron has reviewed the crisis that the PSOE experienced and has alluded to

the Federal Committee of October 1, 2016

, "a coven", in which "a merely nominal dilemma was not posed, but two different ways of understanding the way of govern Spain".

In his opinion, "Sánchez always understood as acceptable the association with the nationalists and independentistas to govern."

Lambán recalled that then "the vision represented by Javier prevailed and led to the investiture of Rajoy".

For this reason, he added that "when someone says that the high-minded PP and PSOE pacts are impossible, they forget that it was perfectly possible in that investiture and that this opened up a range of possibilities."

"Populist Pollution"

However, he continued, "later the PSOE held some primaries, an

evil invention where they exist

, and that has given rise, together with the populist contamination that, in one way or another, we are all suffering, to which at this moment all parties are anything but democratic structures"

Those primaries were won, "in an overwhelming and legitimate way, by Pedro Sánchez and, accepting that vote, at least in that political part of the party I feel in a minority, but it is something that in the history of the PSOE has happened on many occasions and it is something which I carry with the greatest possible dignity".

Lambán added that "if Javier Fernández had remained in the manager, we would have come to see a different vision of the country."

In his speech, the Aragonese president analyzed the situation in Spain and referred to

Catalonia

, since, as he said, "little by little the nationalists achieve their disconnection from the State, something that the

Basque Country

has already achieved, since it is completely disconnected".

He added that "since the loss of the majorities of the big parties, we live in a constant policy of yielding to nationalism."

For this reason, Lambán has pointed out that "patriots, in the best sense of the word, as convicted and confessed constitutionalists, we have to get involved in the search for solutions to the crossroads our country is at, which does not have a person in charge, has to all".
