Kirby: US not supplying Kyiv with long-range weapons because they don't want escalation

Nevertheless, according to Kirby, quoted by TASS, Washington is in close contact with Kyiv in matters of its defense potential.

In September, it was reported that the Ukrainian authorities were requesting additional weapons from the United States, including long-range missile systems.

As specified, the requirements of Ukraine include, among other things, tactical ballistic missiles ATACMS with a range of about 300 km. 

CNN has also previously reported that the US is unlikely to supply Kyiv with long-range systems.
