By scanning a QR code, the lunch guests could see in an interactive map which farms the meat in the meatballs came from.

Then they had to answer short questions about their thoughts on traceable food.

The aim was to measure how interested consumers are in knowing where the food they eat comes from.

The municipality hopes to be able to use the results in an upcoming food procurement to buy more locally produced food.

- Due to the fact that these are public tenders, it is not possible to set geographical requirements for the food.

But we hope to be able to demand that the food be traceable, says Kerstin Åkesson, deputy director of nutrition at Södertälje Municipality.
