This was announced on the air of the Russia 24 channel by the adviser to the general director of Rosenergoatom Renat Karchaa.

“Yuri Alekseevich Chernichuk became the new director of the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant ... who, in the coordinate system of the former employer of the NAEK concern, held the position of chief engineer,” RIA Novosti quotes him.

Karchaa called Chernichuk "a hypertrophied decent person."

He clarified that the entire management team, including the positions of the chief engineer, at the Zaporozhye NPP is now formed from representatives of the former plant staff who have signed a new employment contract.

Earlier, IAEA experts examined the condition of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant, which had been hit by shelling, and reported significant damage at the station.

As the Russian Foreign Ministry stated, the IAEA should avoid abstract condemnations of the shelling of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant by the Ukrainian military and clearly and unambiguously name those responsible for these attacks.
