▲ Voting for and against the Yellow Envelope Act without the ruling party

On the morning of the 30th, the Subcommittee on the Employment and Labor Act of the National Assembly Environment and Labor Committee proposed an amendment to the Labor Union and Labor Relations Adjustment Act, the so-called “Yellow Envelope Act,” exclusively by the Democratic Party.

Members of the Legislative Subcommittee under the People's Power adhered to the opposite position and did not attend the subcommittee.

Members of the People's Power immediately held a press conference at the National Assembly Communication Hall and protested, saying, "We cannot participate in the review of legislation that gives immunity to illegal acts and undermines the Constitution and the rule of law."

Rep. Lim Ja-ja, secretary of the People's Power Hwan-no-Wi, criticized the Yellow Envelope Act as 'illegal strike promotion law, the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions bulletproof law, labor-management confusion creation law, and victim mass production law'.

Rep. Lim said, "The Democratic Party of the Moon Jae-in administration made the revision of the labor union law a national task and introduced a bill, but it was put to sleep for five years." This is because the Democratic Party was well aware that the future of the young generation could fall into hell.”

He also argued that "the issue of polarization in the labor market cannot be addressed through revision of the Union Act," and that "this bill will only widen the polarization of the labor market by giving more power to large and powerful unions."
