American satellites used to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine could become a legitimate target for the Russian military, said Vladimir Yermakov, director of the Foreign Ministry's non-proliferation and arms control department.

“We confirm that such a quasi-civilian infrastructure, if used in military operations against Russia, can quite logically become a legitimate target for retaliatory defeat,” RIA Novosti quotes him as saying.

According to the diplomat, such a provocative use of civilian satellites “at least raises questions in the context of the Outer Space Treaty, which implies its exclusively peaceful use, and requires the most serious condemnation by the world community.”

Ermakov explained that a group of low-orbit vehicles is used to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

As the diplomat clarified, with its help, “specific purely combat tasks are performed” to open up locations, routes of movement and actions of Russian troops, control unmanned aerial vehicles, as well as target guidance from space with precision-guided munitions.

Meanwhile, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, said that negotiations with the United States on security issues are impossible against the backdrop of arms supplies to Kyiv from Washington.

This is how the diplomat commented on the postponement by the Russian side of the meeting of the bilateral consultative commission of Russia and the United States on the Treaty on the Reduction and Limitation of Strategic Offensive Arms (START).

On the air of Radio Sputnik, she noted that it was not just about the negotiation process, but about security issues.

Zakharova recalled that the United States intends to supply even more weapons to the conflict region, in which the Russian Federation is directly involved.

Also on russian.rt.com, the Russian Foreign Ministry linked the postponement of the START commission with the degradation of relations between Moscow and Washington

“That is, they will supply all these weapons, they will incite the Kyiv regime for even more bloodshed, they will allocate money for extremist activities under the auspices of inadequate people on Bankova Street, and we will sit at the same table with them and discuss issues of mutual security?”

asked Zakharova.

According to her, reality "does not allow us to sit down at the negotiating table on security issues with those who destroy this security."

The situation in the LPR

Andrey Marochko, an officer of the People's Militia of the LPR, said that the Ukrainian command on the ground asked for clarification from the higher leadership regarding instructions on taking the settlement of Svatovo.

According to him, this happened "due to constant losses, insufficient ammunition, materiel, weapons and equipment to carry out the combat order."

As Marochko explained, the commanders of the assault units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine wrote a report in which they asked to explain and justify the calculation of forces and means when planning the operation, as well as the feasibility of further offensive operations in the absence of the necessary resources.

In addition, a representative of the People's Militia of the LPR spoke about the disagreements between the Ukrainian military and Polish military personnel in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

According to Marochko, Polish military personnel have a number of privileges compared to Ukrainians.

In particular, as an officer of the People's Militia said, in addition to the established monetary allowance, the Poles receive additional finance in the form of donations.

In addition, they receive a large amount of equipment and special equipment from "Western patrons", while the Ukrainians buy everything at their own expense.

“Poles in communication show arrogance and treat Ukrainians as second-class people.

These facts, as well as a number of other preferences for foreigners, cause dissatisfaction among Ukrainians, which often ends in fights or skirmishes with the Poles,” Marochko wrote on Telegram.
