“At 19:40, on the single-track stretch Bolshaya Volga-Competition at a railway crossing, with a properly functioning signaling, the driver of a truck-manipulator ignored the prohibitory signal of a traffic light and left on the track ... As a result, two electric train cars derailed, the infrastructure was damaged,” it says in a statement.

It is clarified that the incident, the train driver applied emergency braking, but the distance was insufficient.

According to preliminary data, passengers and members of the locomotive crew were not injured.

An ambulance was called to assist the driver.

In September, it was reported that five carriages of a train derailed without further tipping over in the Murmansk region.
