SVT's review of shootings near schools has provoked strong reactions.

Mats Persson (L), newly appointed Minister of Education, calls the problem one of the highest priorities for the Swedish government.

- It is a symptom that society has gone in the wrong direction.

Now it is our task to put it right, he says.

Stop for unauthorized persons at the schools

For the school, the problems must be solved with social teams, day schools and stricter rules for unauthorized persons.

Investments which, according to the government's budget bill, are believed to cost over 800 million until 2025.

The latter proposal is already in place - but must be strengthened.

- The rules must be clear, a school must be able to exclude people who have no business there.

It could be former students who enter the school and create unrest or spread violence.

Want to "warn" municipalities that want to save

The teachers' union has warned that the new budget does not cover the deficits expected in the school going forward.

But the Minister of Education wants to "raise a warning finger" to the municipalities that plan to save on resources.

- It is completely wrong.

There is no more important investment right now than investing in the school and education of our children.

How will you ensure that the vulnerable schools get the support they need?

- This is our highest priority and there are funds in the budget set aside for it.

You can trust that this money is there and that it will be used.
