It was shortly before midnight on the night of Tuesday that the emergency services were alerted to a house fire on Storgatan in Lessebo.
When the emergency services arrived at the scene, the two-story villa was engulfed in flames, and the emergency services had to focus on preventing the fire from spreading to nearby properties.
Highway 25 was closed in connection with the fire and could be reopened at five o'clock on Tuesday morning.
The emergency services are still on the scene early Tuesday morning.
No injuries have been reported in connection with the fire.
