A new bill aimed at relieving victims of the former Unification Church was approved at the general meeting of the Liberal Democratic Party on the 29th.

The government and ruling parties will make a cabinet decision on the bill within this week, and will seek the understanding of the opposition parties with the aim of enacting it in the current Diet session, which will end on the 10th of next month.

A new bill to regulate malicious donations for the relief of victims of the former Unification Church was announced by the government to the opposition parties in advance. Unusual measures were taken, such as adding new provisions that impose a duty of consideration on the side.

The bill was presented to the ruling party on the 28th, and the LDP approved it at the general affairs meeting held on the 29th, completing the procedure within the party.

The government plans to make a cabinet decision on the bill by the end of this week and submit it to the Diet if the Komeito party also approves it, and wants to enact it at the current Diet session, which will end on the 10th of next month.
