The municipality has carried out a status inspection of the swimming pool.

And work is underway to prepare the pool.

- We have made two discoveries that we must remedy.

First of all, there is relatively extensive moisture damage in the changing rooms and we have also found changes in joints, in and around the pool, says Olof Nyberg, who is Acting Head of Community Development Ragunda.

Now work is being done to fix the pool so that swimming lessons can hopefully start after the New Year.

Until the moisture damage in the changing rooms is repaired, students may use the changing rooms belonging to the adjacent sports hall.

There must be a bathhouse in the municipality

During the time that the swimming pool has been closed, school students in Ragunda municipality have been sent to another location for swimming lessons, eg Östersund.

Ragunda has made the decision that the swimming hall in Stugun will remain for the foreseeable future and that it will also be adjusted for accessibility and eventually re-open for public bathing.

Unclear price tag

According to Olof Nyberg, it is still too early to say what the cost of the bathhouse renovation will end up being.

- What we have done so far is no large sums and only when we have received tenders for further renovations can we say anything about the total cost.
