China News Agency, United Nations, November 28th. On the 28th, the UN Security Council held an open meeting on the Palestinian issue in the Middle East.

Zhang Jun, China's permanent representative to the United Nations, spoke at the meeting, calling on the international community to encourage dialogue and cooperation between Palestine and Israel to achieve common security.

On the same day, the United Nations Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process Wennes Lan said that after decades of continuous violence, the expansion of illegal settlements, the "dormant" negotiations and the deepening occupation, the Palestinian-Israeli conflict has reached a "boiling point" again. .

In recent months, there has been severe violence in both the occupied West Bank and Israel.

In the enclave of Gaza, Palestinian militants recently fired four rockets into Israel, followed by IDF airstrikes on what it said were Hamas targets.

Vinneslan stressed that the violence must stop and that we can build bridges and take urgent steps towards a two-state solution.

Zhang Jun said in his speech that Israel and Palestine are inseparable neighbors, and their security is interdependent and inseparable.

Building the security of one party on the insecurity of the other cannot break the cycle of violence and get out of the security dilemma.

The international community should pay equal attention to the security concerns of Palestine and Israel, and encourage the two sides to find the greatest common denominator through dialogue and cooperation to achieve common security.

At the same time, the occupying power should earnestly fulfill its international legal obligation to protect the safety of the people in the occupied territories.

Zhang Jun said that it is urgent to improve the economic and humanitarian situation in Palestine.

China calls on Israel to relax restrictions on the entry and exit of personnel and humanitarian and reconstruction materials in the Gaza Strip, lift the blockade and siege of Gaza as soon as possible, and create conditions for the development of Palestinian communities in the West Bank.

The international community should provide assistance to Palestine through multiple channels to help Palestine alleviate its financial crisis, guarantee public services, develop the economy and improve people's livelihood.

Zhang Jun said that the continuous expansion of settlement activities has eroded Palestine's land, embezzled Palestine's resources, violated Palestine's right to self-determination, and made a territorially coherent, independent and sovereign Palestinian state even more out of reach.

China urges Israel to stop all settlement activities in accordance with Security Council Resolution 2334 and return to the correct track of the "two-state solution".

Zhang Jun said that the international community should always put the Palestine issue at the top of the international agenda, continue to adhere to the "two-state solution" unswervingly, and provide more support for the resumption of equal dialogue between Palestine and Israel.

With a sense of urgency, the Security Council must take substantive steps to advance the two-state solution and support the Palestinian people in restoring and exercising their inalienable rights.

On issues concerning the future and destiny of the Palestinian people, no one has the right of veto.

China supports the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with full sovereignty based on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, and supports the peaceful coexistence of Palestine and Israel and the common development of the Arab and Jewish nations.

China is willing to work with the international community to practice genuine multilateralism, promote a comprehensive, just and lasting solution to the Palestine issue, and realize security, stability, development and prosperity in the Middle East at an early date.
