On November 28, Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Zhao Lijian presided over a regular press conference.

A reporter asked a question about the "Indo-Pacific Strategy" recently released by the Canadian government.

Zhao Lijian said that Canada's strategic China-related content is full of ideological prejudice, playing up and hyping the so-called "China threat", and making groundless accusations and attacks on China.

The Chinese side is strongly dissatisfied with and firmly opposed to this, and has lodged solemn representations with the Canadian side.

Zhao Lijian said that China has always adhered to peaceful development, advocated openness and inclusiveness, and practiced win-win cooperation. It has always been a builder of world peace, a contributor to global development, and a defender of international order.

China's development is an opportunity for the world and a growth of world peace forces. No matter how far it develops, China will never seek hegemony or engage in expansion.

The international community can clearly see who is maintaining world peace and promoting common development, who is inciting the Cold War mentality and exaggerating the confrontation between camps.

Zhao Lijian emphasized that the principle of non-interference in internal affairs is the "golden rule" for state-to-state exchanges. Taiwan, Xinjiang, and Hong Kong affairs are purely China's internal affairs, and no external forces are allowed to dictate.

China's determination to safeguard national sovereignty, security and development interests is unwavering.

The Canadian side has stated on many occasions that it attaches importance to relations with China, and is willing to devote itself to improving and developing relations with China with a forward-looking attitude.

The Canadian side should match its words with deeds, show sincerity and goodwill, uphold the spirit of seeking common ground while reserving differences, pursue a rational and pragmatic China policy, and implement its commitments with actions.
