Mothers of Russian soldiers dispatched to the war in Ukraine have started a petition demanding an end to the war and a withdrawal of troops.

According to CNN broadcasts, mothers of soldiers who were mobilized or drafted for the Ukraine War posted a petition on the online petition site Change (change.org) with the women's anti-war movement group 'Feminist Anti-War Resistance' on Women's Day on the 27th (local time).

They demanded the withdrawal of troops from Ukraine and the return of soldiers in a petition sent to the Russian Senate Committee on Social Policy and the House Committee on Families, Women and Children.

They complained, "The 'special military operation', accompanied by destruction, pain, blood and tears, has been going on for more than nine months."

"The livelihood burden of families who have lost their supporters is putting another burden on the shoulders of overbearing mothers, and many surviving men have lost their health and labor power," he complained, saying, "The government promises support and subsidies only in words." I did.

"As President Putin mentioned, at least 318,000 were called up," they argued. "In many regions, the families of the mobilized soldiers are buying everything, including body armor, at their own expense, while men are being driven to their deaths."

“Mothers of conscripted or mobilized soldiers go in and out of local government offices feeling insulted to bring their sons home,” the mothers said.

"The continued hints by the country's leadership about the possibility of using nuclear weapons are fueling despair and fear for the fate of their sons," he said.

They said, "We oppose the participation of our children, brothers, husbands, and fathers," and urged lawmakers to "use all their influence to ensure that the war ends as soon as possible and that close relatives return home."

The petition has so far signed close to 4,000.

Prior to this, the recently established anti-war movement group 'Mothers and Wives Committee' of war veterans' families also requested peace negotiations with Ukraine and the exclusion of conscripted soldiers from participating in the battle.

As anti-war public opinion spread, President Putin invited 17 war veterans' mothers to his official residence on the 25th and held a meeting to comfort them.

However, the Mothers and Wives Committee raised suspicions of directing, saying that no family member of the organization was invited to the event, saying, "Even the invited mothers were told to ask only the 'right' questions that were pre-arranged."
