In order to correct the so-called one-vote disparity, a revised law was promulgated to increase the number of single-seat constituencies in the House of Representatives by 10.

The House of Representatives election, which will come into effect on the 28th of next month and will be announced thereafter, will be held in a new division.

The revised Public Offices Election Law will increase the number of single-seat constituencies in the House of Representatives by 10 in five prefectures and prefectures, including Tokyo and Kanagawa, while reducing the number of single-seat constituencies in 10 prefectures, including Miyagi, Niigata, and Hiroshima, by one each. Including "decrease", it changes the division of 140 electoral districts, which is the largest number ever, and was enacted in the Diet on the 18th of this month.

Today, the revised law was published in the official gazette and promulgated, and it has been confirmed that it will come into force on the 28th of next month, one month later, according to the provisions of the law.

The House of Representatives election, which will be announced after the 28th of next month, will be held in the new division.

In order to avoid confusion among voters, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications will post a map of the new divisions on the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications website and will make it known to residents.

On the other hand, by-elections for Yamaguchi 4th District of the House of Representatives following the death of former Prime Minister Abe, and by-elections for Wakayama 1st District following the resignation of a member of the House of Representatives, will not be based on new zoning, but on the current zoning.
