President Yoon Seok-yeol emphasized today (28th) in relation to the freight union's collective refusal to transport, "Labor-management rule of law that establishes the law and principles rightly is more important than ever, even for the victims of the dual structure of the labor market."

Deputy Spokesman Lee Jae-myung reported through a briefing that President Yoon said at a meeting of senior secretaries held at the Presidential Office in Yongsan this morning, "We must firmly establish the rule of law between labor and management."

Deputy Spokesman Lee explained that the 'labor-management rule of law' mentioned by President Yoon is "regardless of the illegal acts of the labor side or the illegal acts of the management, the law and principles must be properly established."

President Yoon said, "Breaking down the dual structure of the labor market and making working conditions fair is the consistent stance of our government in dealing with labor issues. Nothing can be gained through illegal activities."

He then pointed out, "The illegality and violence of unions that have taken the national economy hostage leads to ruining our economy and taking away jobs from people who hope for economic recovery."

"In the end, the people who suffer from this are low-wage workers suffering from the dual structure of the labor market, so the government should take the lead in creating equitable working conditions," he said.

In this stance, President Yoon is scheduled to preside over a cabinet meeting tomorrow to deliberate on whether to issue an order to start operations for the cargo union.

In fact, it is interpreted as foreshadowing the invocation of an order.

As a matter of procedure, the order to commence business is issued by the Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport after deliberation by the State Council.

Previously, the presidential office urgently announced to reporters that President Yoon would preside over the cabinet meeting during the senior secretary's meeting.

In this regard, Deputy Spokesperson Lee explained, "The president decided to preside over the cabinet meeting as there is an important deliberation agenda in a situation where the public damage caused by the freight solidarity's refusal to transport can no longer be neglected."

An official from the presidential office said, “The door to dialogue has been open several times,” and “As the first conversation began today, observe the contents of the negotiations” Let's see," he said.

He emphasized that “actual damage is occurring mainly in the construction industry,” and “this damage cannot be left unattended, and the government has no choice but to approach this problem from the perspective of public safety and convenience.”
