On Sunday night, there was another fire in a municipal business in Tyresö.

The municipality, which over the past year has worked with investments in preventive work with, for example, more guard cars and camera surveillance, is concerned, and the municipality's safety manager says that the number of fires has increased.

- We take seriously what happened and it is a very sad development that mainly affects our children and educators, says Maj Ingels, head of security at Tyresö municipality.

Several cases closed

According to the police, there are around ten fires in car garages, a barbecue kiosk, a container and municipal businesses, among other things.

So far, no suspect has been arrested and several of the cases have been closed because investigators have not succeeded in making progress in the cases.

The fires cost millions

The head of security Maj Ingels at Tyresö Municipality says that they had applied for permission for camera surveillance for Stimmet's school, but that the Integrity Protection Authority took time and therefore the camera images from the night's suspected arson were missing.

The municipality's costs for the previous fires have so far not been covered by the insurance company because the deductible in the event of a fire is SEK 2 million.

However, today's fire is so large with extensive damage that the costs are deemed to exceed the deductible.
