Determining Martyr's Day and Union Day holidays in the financial markets

The Securities and Commodities Authority announced that the holiday for the financial markets in the country on the occasion of Martyr’s Day and the 51st Union Day will start from Thursday, December 1, and will continue until Saturday, December 3, provided that trading in the markets resumes on Monday, December 5, 2022.

The Authority stated that this decision came after consultation and coordination with both the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange and the Dubai Financial Market, based on Circular No. (16) of 2022 issued by the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources regarding Martyr’s Day and Union Day holidays.

The Securities and Commodities Authority stated that with regard to the Dubai Gold and Commodities Exchange, it is left to it to determine the start and end date of the vacation, according to what is required by work requirements and the public interest.
