China will continue to lead the substantive and political affairs of the conference as the presidency of COP15.

The main elements of the conference, such as the theme of "Ecological Civilization: Building a Community of Life on Earth" and the logo, remain unchanged.

The Chinese government will send a Chinese delegation composed of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, the People's Government of Yunnan Province, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Finance, and the Ministry of Natural Resources to attend the conference in Montreal.

　　In October 2021, the first phase of the COP15 meeting was successfully held in Kunming, China. More than 5,000 representatives from more than 150 contracting countries and more than 30 international agencies and organizations participated in the meeting. Since the first phase of COP15, China has organized nearly 40 meetings of the Bureau of the Convention to discuss issues related to the "Post-2020 Global Biodiversity Framework" with other parties to build a broader consensus and contribute to The final achievement of the "framework" laid a crucial foundation.
