Kilde finishes 37 hundredths behind the Swiss.

Austrian Olympic champion Matthias Mayer is 3rd at 78 hundredths.

Dazzling, Marco Odermatt showed all his usual agility to thwart the pitfalls of the high-speed Canadian track and largely dominate the competition, Kilde aside.

Since last season, the two men have been engaged in a superb duel in the speed events, to the advantage of Kilde in the downhill and close in the super-G.

The Swiss, however, takes advantage of his total domination as a giant to take pride of place at the top of the general classification, which he crushed last spring.

With his 13th victory in the World Cup, the fifth in super-G, Odermatt leads overall 80 points ahead of Kilde.

The Swiss had already won the opening giant in Sölden at the end of October and seems, at 25, at the top of his game.

The French managed a solid race in Alberta: Matthieu Bailet took 5th place at 1 sec 16, Nils Allègre 8th at 1 sec 28, Alexis Pinturault 12th at 1 sec 39.

"I am very satisfied, especially given the difficult conditions with a lack of visibility in particular", appreciated Bailet.

"I'm really happy with the way I skied, I felt good from the start of the race. After a very complicated summer, I'm really proud of myself," said Allègre.

The race was interrupted about twenty minutes after the heavy fall of Mauro Caviezel.

After several minutes on the ground, the 34-year-old Swiss got up, his face swollen, before being evacuated by helicopter.

Winner of the specialty's small globe in 2020, Caviezel had not skied in the World Cup for almost two years after suffering a major concussion in January 2021.

The conditions turned out to be changeable at Lake Louise, with a gray sky which became more and more overcast until it offered snowflakes to the last bibs.

Instead of three races (one downhill and two super-G), the Canadian station organized two (downhill Saturday, super-G Sunday) because of the poor conditions on Friday.

After Canada, the skiers join the United States and Colorado for two runs and a super-G at Beaver Creek next week.
