On Monday, the municipal council in Umeå adopted the partially criticized action program for Umeå's environmental goals.

The climate movement believes that the action program is too vague and from a political point of view, the content is also questioned at certain points.

- Among other things, we want to know how much it costs and what effects this will have.

It needs to be clear, says Anders Ågren (M), opposition councillor.

One vote margin

SVT Nyheter Västerbotten has previously reported that Umeå Municipality signed a climate contract, but that the action program was greatly delayed.

Now, however, the municipal council has hammered through the action program, with the smallest possible margin.

"Move on"

S, V and MP voted for the proposal, the other parties wanted the proposal to be resubmitted.

In order for the proposal for re-referral to win, it was required that 22 members voted in favor, when the voting was finished only 21 members had demanded re-referral.

- Pleased that we can move forward with what we have.

We are not completely satisfied with what we have on the table, but we have to work with the program so that it becomes even better, says Nils Seye Larsen (MP), group leader.
