Employees of the Federal Security Service prevented a series of terrorist attacks, which were prepared on the instructions of the special services of Ukraine, in places of mass stay of citizens on the territory of the Zaporozhye region.

This was reported by the Center for Public Relations of the FSB.

“In Melitopol, three citizens of Ukraine were detained on their way to the place of laying an explosive device in one of the city's markets.

Two of them, previously convicted of committing serious crimes on the territory of Ukraine, confessed that they acted on the instructions of the Ukrainian special services in order to intimidate the civilian population of the Zaporozhye region," the report says.

It is noted that components of an improvised explosive device based on plastite and electric detonators were seized from the car of the detainees.

During a search in the apartments, two pistols with ammunition and a grenade with a fuse were found.

The attackers were taken to Moscow, their identities are not disclosed in the interests of the investigation.

The investigating authorities opened criminal cases against three Ukrainian citizens on the preparation of terrorist attacks and illegal trafficking in firearms, ammunition, explosives and explosive devices.

As the detainees said, they had previously committed a robbery on the territory of Ukraine, after which the SBU officer offered to “throw off” them from criminal punishment in exchange for sabotage.

According to one of the attackers, they were instructed to arrange an explosion in a crowded place in Melitopol.

Countering the terrorist activities of Ukraine

On November 24, in the Volgograd region, a terrorist attack was prevented on the South Stream gas pipeline, through which gas is supplied to Turkey and Europe.

According to the FSB, the sabotage was prepared by members of a secret cell of supporters of the Ukrainian nationalist ideology, who were detained by the FSB.

The attackers found magnetic mines, delayed action fuses, as well as the coordinates of the detonation site.

Criminal cases under Art.

30, 205 (preparation for a terrorist act), 205.4 (“Organization of a terrorist community and participation in it”), 222.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Illegal acquisition, transfer, sale, storage, transportation, transfer or carrying of explosives or explosive devices”).

On November 8, in the Kherson region, the security forces stopped the activities of the sabotage and reconnaissance group of the SBU.

Nine citizens of Ukraine were detained, from whom more than 5 kg of plastite, electric detonators, and executive devices were confiscated.

Three ready-to-use improvised explosive devices, small arms and ammunition, and special reconnaissance equipment were also seized.

At the same time, their curators - SBU employees Samir Shukurov, Viktor Khomyak and Dmitry Sidey - are outside the Russian Federation.

A case was opened on the grounds of crimes under Art.

361 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Act of International Terrorism”).

On November 2, the FSB prevented a diversion by Ukrainian special services at an energy infrastructure facility in Crimea.

As a result of operational-search activities, a citizen of Ukraine, born in 1978, recruited by the SBU, was detained.

Three high-explosive explosive devices, instructions for their use, and a diagram of the location of power transmission towers in one of the Crimean regions were confiscated from him.

On October 28, a group of four people who were planning a terrorist attack on one of the administrative facilities in the Stavropol Territory was detained.

The detainees were supporters of the ideology of Ukrainian nationalist organizations.

As a result of a search of their places of residence and a hiding place, firearms, explosive devices and components for making an incendiary mixture were found.

On October 24, a 20-year-old man was detained on suspicion of financing the illegal armed group “Islamic battalion “Crimea”.

A criminal case was also initiated against the Ukrainian Nariman Bilyalov, also known as Isa Akaev, who organized this illegal armed group in order to violate the territorial integrity of Russia.

From June 2014 to the present, leading a battalion, he has been directly involved in hostilities against the RF Armed Forces.

Bilyalov has been put on the international wanted list.
