The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine announced that units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled, yesterday, Russian attacks in Luhansk and Donetsk, explaining that the Russian forces launched two missile strikes on targets in the city of Dnieper and 38 attacks from missile launchers on targets in the city of Kherson.

The authority added that Russia and the Ukrainian regions controlled by Moscow are preparing for a next wave of secret mobilization among the Russian forces, starting from December 10, according to a report published by the authority.

It indicated that the Russian forces continue to focus their main efforts on carrying out offensive operations in the directions of Bakhmut and Avdiivka, while defending themselves in Novopavlevka and Zaporizhya.

Yesterday, the Ukrainian news agency “Ukrinform” stated that the authority said in its report that Russia continues to regroup its forces to reinforce its divisions and units in the directions of Liman, Avdiivka and Novopavlevka.

Yesterday, local authorities said that the city of Kryvyi Rih in southern Ukraine was attacked by a Russian missile.

And the military governor, Valentin Resenchenko, said via the Telegram application that two missiles hit a transportation facility yesterday morning, and the military administration urged Ukrainian citizens to take refuge in places of refuge from air attacks, and a warning of air attacks was issued in several regions in eastern and southern Ukraine.

Ukrainian sources said that the Nikopol region, north of the Dnipro River, was also attacked with shells and heavy artillery.

In addition, the Secretary General of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), Jens Stoltenberg, praised Germany's support for Ukraine in its war against Russia.

“The strong German support made an important difference,” he told the German weekly newspaper Welt am Sonntag in its issue issued yesterday, noting that the arms supplies saved many lives.

These statements came two days before the meeting of foreign ministers of NATO countries to be held in Bucharest.

"We must all maintain and strengthen our support for Ukraine," he added.

It is noteworthy that Germany has so far supplied the Iris-T air defense system to Ukraine, and it is scheduled to supply three more systems during the next year.

The Ukrainian forces primarily need air defense weapons in light of the continued missile and drone attacks by Russia.

Regarding the current situation in Ukraine, Stoltenberg said that with the onset of winter, Moscow began bombing Ukraine's energy supplies to force it to submit, and continued: "(Russian President Vladimir) Putin is trying to use winter as a weapon, but he will not succeed in that."

In addition, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that the "grain from Ukraine" initiative proved that global food security for Kiev "is not just empty words," noting that Kyiv has collected about $150 million from more than 20 countries to export grain to countries such as Ethiopia, Sudan and South Korea. Sudan, Somalia and Yemen, during the summit held the day before yesterday in Kyiv for allied countries to launch a plan to export grain worth $150 million to countries most at risk of famine and drought.

Zelensky said his country plans to send at least 60 ships from Ukrainian ports to countries most at risk of famine and drought.

A joint statement issued after the summit stated that since the start of the Russian war on Ukraine on February 24, the world has recorded 10 million tons less imports of agricultural products compared to the same period in 2021.

"This means that the food security of millions of people around the world is seriously threatened," he added, blaming the Russian blockade of Ukrainian ports earlier in the conflict.

“NATO” calls for strengthening support for Ukraine, and accuses Putin of using “winter” as a weapon.
