He noted that child trafficking is unacceptable.
“Over the past few years, exported abroad
45 thousand babies born by surrogate mothers,” Volodin wrote on Telegram.
The speaker of the State Duma emphasized that the volume of this illegal business is estimated at more than €2 billion.
“Such kids often find themselves in the most difficult situations: they become victims of crimes, including sales for organs, fall into same-sex couples,” Volodin warned.
In May, the State Duma Committee on Security and Anti-Corruption recommended that deputies adopt in the first reading a bill prohibiting the provision of surrogacy services to foreign citizens and stateless persons.
