Romina Pourmokhtari's (L) decision to accept the post of climate and environment minister has critics raising their voices.

This is due to previous SD critical statements she made.

To SVT's Agenda, the newly appointed Luf chairman Erik Berg says that he had not taken a ministerial position in the current government.

- I wouldn't have done that.

Nor would I have been prepared to sit at those negotiating tables with the Sweden Democrats, he says.

So you had not done as your representative and accepted a ministerial position?

- I hadn't done it, no.

Criticizes the parent party

Erik Berg, who is interviewed in connection with a demonstration outside the Russian embassy in Stockholm, also directs criticism at the mother party.

- The winter package given to Ukraine now is the most liberal thing this government has done.

But I think they have failed to be liberals and I don't really think they deserve their name.

He also sees it as a wrong decision to sign the Tidö Agreement.

- After the national meeting on Saturday, I hope that Johan (Pehrson editor's note) begins to write a new chapter in the history of the Liberals, where we actually develop the policy that makes us deserve to be called the Liberals, says Erik Berg.

Defending himself and the party

In a text message to SVT, Climate and Environment Minister Romina Pourmokthari defends the Liberals' choice of path, and writes that the cooperation with SD and the other government parties "gave me the opportunity to run a more effective and ambitious climate and environmental policy than the previous government did".

- A job I take on with joy, writes Pourmokthari.
