RFI: at least five people died in an attempted coup in Sao Tome and Principe in Africa

According to RIA Novosti, the head of one of the opposition parties is also among the dead.

Dozens of detainees are also reported following the coup attempt.

On October 1, a military coup took place in Burkina Faso, as a result of which Lieutenant Colonel Paul-Henri Sandaogo Damiba was overthrown.

As noted, the coup was led by Captain Ibrahim Traore.
