In October, around 5,000 people in Sweden were notified.

More than twice as many if you compare with the 2,000 that were notified monthly during the period January to September this year.

Hardest hit are companies in trade and industry.

The number of jobs received at the Employment Service has also decreased.

But according to Johan Pehrson (L), there are good resources for those looking for a job.

- The employment agency underwent a fairly strong reform during the last mandate period and is ready and equipped to match the jobs that are available, there are still quite a few vacant jobs, he says in SVT Agenda.

Export dependence

In 2022, unemployment has been at 7.4 percent.

According to government estimates, that figure will rise to 7.7 percent over the next year, but the forecast is subject to change depending on the development of the war in Ukraine and global energy prices.

- We are a fantastic country, but we are very, very dependent on exports.

It is clear that if the economy goes down significantly, not least in Germany and in other important markets, it will affect us a lot, says Johan Pehrson (L).
