The White House condemned the meeting of former President Donald Trump, in Mar-a-Lago, Florida, with a person known as a white supremacist and rapper Kanye West, whose statements that were considered anti-Semitic sparked a wave of condemnation.

And the 45th President of the United States confirmed - the day before yesterday, Friday - that he had dinner with the rapper at his residence in Florida, noting that the latter had brought some of his friends, including Nick Fuentes, who is known for his racist views, which are considered "anti-Semitic."

In a comment posted by Trump - on his account on the "Truth Social" platform - on Friday evening, "I had no knowledge of Nick Fuentes."

White House spokesman Andrew Bates denounced the meeting that brought together Trump and Fuentes, saying in a statement to CNN, "There is no place for intolerance, hatred and anti-Semitism in America, including Mar-a-Lago (Trump's residence). Holocaust denial." It is abhorrent and dangerous and must be strongly condemned," the spokesman said.

Commenting on a question about the dinner organized by Trump, US President Joe Biden, who is spending the weekend on Nantucket Island in Massachusetts, just said, "You don't want to hear my opinion."

Fuentes is a Holocaust denier, and his YouTube channel was taken down in early 2020, for violating the platform's policy on hate speech.

To my friend Donald Trump, you are better than this.

Even a social visit from an antisemite like Kanye West and human scum like Nick Fuentes is unacceptable.

I urge you to throw those bums out, disavow them and relegate them to the dustbin of history where they belong.

Anger close to Trump

In mid-November, Trump announced his intention to run in the presidential elections scheduled for 2024, but his hosting of a white nationalist called for censured reactions from some of his former administration officials.

Former US ambassador to Israel David Friedman denounced the dinner, saying in one of his tweets, "Even a social visit from anti-Semites - like Kanye West - and human scum - like Nick Fuentes - is unacceptable."

"Anti-Semites deserve no place among American leaders of the right or the left," he added.

And the Axios news site quoted a source familiar with the atmosphere of the dinner as saying that Trump "seemed to like" Fuentes, although he did not seem to know anything about his history.

As for West, who officially changed his name to “Yi”, several brands cut off cooperation with him, including the German company “Adidas” for the manufacture of sports equipment and the American company “GAP” for ready-made clothes, against the background of his recent publication of statements that were “considered anti-Semitic.” and his association with extremists.
