Enslavement and grievous bodily harm.

These are the crimes contested by the magistrates of the Rome DDA against the parents of a 14-year-old girl arrested by the police.

It was the girl herself who told the investigators the facts.

The young woman was allegedly forced for years, even with physical violence, to do housework and forced to beg near a supermarket.

The father and mother, of Bosnian nationality aged 41 and 36, were reached by the precautionary measure issued by the investigating judge.

Arrests in prison ordered for the man, house arrest for the woman.

Among the episodes contested by the two also the promise in marriage to a stranger in exchange for money, despite the girl's refusal.

The young woman, immediately after the complaint, was immediately placed in a protected structure where she still remains.
